I started as a film projectionist, now I'm a filmmaker: on a journey to make the feature film of my dreams, set in the vintage projection booth that started it all.
Photo: I wore a suit to show respect when I threaded the reels of CASABLANCA on the 75th birthday of this film projector. Seventy-five years this projector stood in the same place, blasting light into that cinema auditorium; all during WWII, the rise of TV, the moon landing, the invention of video, Internet and the iPhone. That's nearly half a million reels of film. Alfred Hitchcock wore a suit on set, it seemed to be the least I could do.
